President Erdoğan will reduce the rate of increase in the fees paid by travel agencies to TÜRSAB.

With the Communiqué published in the Official Gazette, the revaluation rate for 2022 was determined as 36.20 percent. In 2022, like other taxes, fees and penalties, the fees that travel agencies would pay to TÜRSAB would increase at the same rate.

However, it has been learned that the President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, Firuz Bağlıkaya, wrote to President Erdoğan on 10 December, requesting that the increase in the fee to be paid by travel agencies be reduced.

It has been learned that the Presidency has sent the aforementioned letter to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Ministry has started work on the subject by obtaining the consent of TÜRSAB.

In the coming days, a legal arrangement will be made that authorizes the President to reduce the increase rate by half. It has been learned that the legal regulation will be put into one of the bag laws.

A statement on the subject was also made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The statement from the ministry is as follows:

"As it is known, the "Coronavirus (Covid-19) Epidemic", which has affected our country as well as the whole world, has made it possible for travel agencies to travel to Turkey with the Law No. It has been decided not to collect the 2020 dues to be paid to the Association of Agents of Turkey (TÜRSAB).

Although the negativities caused by the epidemic in our country's economy have been eliminated with the measures taken, some restrictions still continue, especially in the world tourism sector, caused by the variants of the virus.

In this environment, in order to eliminate the negative effects of 2022 annual fees (5,088 TL) that travel agencies will pay to the Union, which has been updated at the revaluation rate of 2021, the need to take some measures has arisen by our Ministry. work has been started.

In this context, a draft law has been prepared authorizing our President to reduce the revaluation rate applied to annual fees up to 50% by adding a clause to Article 35 of the Travel Agencies and Travel Agencies Union Law No. 1618, which regulates annual fees.
